The Development of Semiconductor Inventions
Semiconductors are considered to be a special kind of chemical elements. People got known about these substances in the end of the 19th century, but just in the 20th century scientists managed to obtain more knowledge about them. In 1923 Russian scientists proved the ability of usage of semiconductor-metal contacts to accelerate the producing of fluctuations. But such parts as igct that are used today were invented considerably later. Only in the beginning of the 60's with the appearing of transistors in 1949 the broad use of crystal detectors started. The intensive research of the features of semiconductors was started at the same time.
Stimulated emission is actually a very interesting feature of semiconductors that has been researched for several tens of years. It led to the creation of semiconductor laser device based on utilizing of p - n barriers and then on heterojunction.
